A Call for Purity & Accountability in the Pulpits
We believe God is calling for purity in the pulpits of America today! Purity in heart, in motive, in life, and in message. This must take place before we can truly have a Great Awakening and turn this nation back to God.
What In The World...?
When I look at the condition of our culture, and when I look at the condition of our churches, I have to ask myself the question…WHAT IN THE WORLD IS BEING PREACHED FROM THE PULPITS OF AMERICA?
God will hold us – the Five-Fold Ministry – accountable for the condition of His house, and ultimately the impact we had or did not have on our culture, and our nation.
As the Five-fold ministry, we are not called to entertain the troops, but we are called to equip them to do the works of God in the earth (Eph. 4:11-13)! It is time for us all to take our position and place, and to be salt and light to this nation, and the nations of the world!
Spiritual Leaders Held Accountable?
Some say Charles G. Finney's life and writings influenced more people toward revival and reformation than any other preacher of the last century. He recognized the important role of the Church, especially the pulpits – the Five-fold ministry – plays in the shaping of our culture and nation. A portion of his classic sermon "Decay of Conscience" says it very well.
THE DECAY OF CONSCIENCE
December 4, 1873 – Charles G. Finney.
"Brethren, our preaching will bear its legitimate fruits.
If immorality prevails in the land, the fault is ours in a great degree.
If there is a decay of conscience, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If the public press lacks moral discrimination, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If the church is degenerate and worldly, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If the world loses its interest in religion, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If Satan rules in our halls of legislation, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If our politics become so corrupt that the very foundations of our government are ready to fall away, the pulpit is responsible for it.
Let us not ignore this fact, my dear brethren; but let us lay it to heart, and be thoroughly awake to our responsibility in respect to the morals of this nation."
When We Stand Before God...?
We must ask ourselves the question. "When I stand before a Holy God to give an account of my stewardship of His flock, what will He say to me?"
He will not care about our popularity, how many books we sold, how big our church or houses were, who we did or didn't know. What He will care about and ask us is, what did we do with His House, His people, and how did we influence our nation and the nations of the world – for eternity. Were we good stewards over the things He entrusted to our care?
Did we build HIS Church, or our own kingdoms?
Did we send many souls to hell because we watered down the Word of Truth?
Did we live only to please man, or did we walk in the fear of God, and live to please HIm?
Did we genuinely love and care for the flock of God?
Did we tell them what they wanted to hear, instead of what they needed to hear?
Did we just wink at their sin, or did we love them enough to confront the sin they’re living in?
Did we teach them to set their affections on things above, or to love more the things of the world?
Did we teach them to pursue righteousness, truth and the will of God, or just spiritual experiences?
Did we teach them to be salt and light, or did we teach them to compromise, so they would be liked?
Did we allow God to move by His Spirit and fulfill His desire, or did we quench and put out the Spirit’s fire?
Did we teach them about the Fear of God, or did we replace it with an unbalanced teaching of His mercy & Love.
Did we accurately communicate Jesus Christ in all His glory as BOTH the lamb and the Lion?
Did we give them milk and meat to eat or just cotton candy and sweets?
Did we cause them to become weak, and prey to the enemy, or did we prepare them to stand and fight?
Did we make God’s house a house of Prayer? or a place just for social gathering and programs?
Did we equip them to do the work of the ministry, or teach them to chase the American dream?
Did we really build God's church, or is it weak, frail, and broken, because of us?
Did we speak the truth in Love? It takes real love to speak the truth, especially when it is not popular!
Did we love the people enough to speak the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?
What will God say to you, as a leader in His house?
It's Time For An Internal Investigation
For a true Great Awakening to take place in our nation, it must begin with the Leaders in God's house. We believe God will be moving by His Spirit, conducting a deep internal investigation in His house, and removing everything that is standing in His way. It is time for us to judge ourselves and for judgment to begin in the house of God (1 Peter 4:17)! May our hearts and lives be fully devoted to God and His purposes, no mater what the cost.
